Notes on a Scandal

By

We live in a city where every square foot of pavement is suffused with history, and it doesn’t take much imagination to transport yourself from your mundane daily commute to a daydream in which you are the lead character in a Henry James novel. If you harbor a love for stories about old New York, come to Down the Rabbit Hole, a special presentation from Brooklyn Brainery and the Brooklyn Historical Society about found objects and scandals from the turn of the century. The narrative, recounted by noted author and archivist Benjamin Feldman, begins with an antique change purse bought at a Chelsea garage sale which provides clues that unfold into a Prohibition-era mystery. Tickets are $10 and include one free beer from Brooklyn Brewery. The talk begins at 7pm and advance reservations are recommended.
