On Friday, Ra Ra Riot played the last free concert of the summer for Celebrate Brooklyn along with two openers, Delicate Steve and Buke & Gass.
Buke & Gass came on first and played a set of stripped down, acoustic poppy rock, then Delicate Steve played a more tripped-out, almost psychedelic show. Ra Ra Riot came on, opening with “Too Too Too Fast” off their breakthrough 2008 album “The Rhumb Line.” The group played for more than an hour — which singer Wesley Miles said may have been the longest they’ve ever performed. They played most of the songs off both of their full-length albums, plus two covers — Steve Winwood’s “Valerie” and Tommy Sparks’ “Saccharin and the War” — and “Each Year” off their self-titled EP. It was a comprehensive set, and they brought out their more popular tracks plus some of the ones that don’t get as much attention. The group truly seemed in their element, like they were having a blast on stage.
