During the two-week run of Conni’s Avant Garde Restaurant: The Mothership Landing, the Irondale Theater will be transformed into a banquet hall where the cast prepares a five-course, locally sourced meal (with wine!), and the audience acts as their dinner party guests. The show–performed two years ago at the Bushwick Starr before touring a bit–spoofs both avant garde theater and that of the Tony n Tina variety, using the conceit that these bohemian performers were somehow charged with running a restaurant (that happens to serve good food). Doors open at 6:30 with passed hors d’ouvres and cocktails, tickets are $60 per person of $500 for a table of 10. (Thursday’s opening night show is specially priced at $40 for single tickets.)
