The Secreted Sounds of New York

By

Visiting Ground Zero was probably too much to bear last weekend, or any weekend, right? The Guggenheim’s latest stillspotting installation, To a Great City, replaces the typical memorialization of 9/11 with a tour that leads you to five unexpected spaces around Lower Manhattan, chosen by the architects at Snøhetta. At each spot, be it an underground chamber or landmark skyscraper that is otherwise closed to the public, the sound installations  of Composer Arvo Pär will form the connective tissue of this quiet celebration of New York. And bonus for BB readers: if you use the code Brooklyn2 at the ticket checkout and you’ll save $2 on the $10 admission. It runs Thursdays-Sundays through September 25.
