The groundbreaking, first-ever SONiC Festival, which focuses on “sounds of a new century” and features new compositions by composers under 40, rolls into Brooklyn this Friday. Boerum Hill’s Roulette is hosting two shows that night. The first features Alarm Will Sound, an experimental twenty-member band, who will be performing six pieces, including ones by Nico Muhly and Aphex Twin. Afterwards, the SONiC AfterHours event “Electronic SONiC” will take place, featuring mind-bending DJs, VJs, and electronic composers; it’s free with entrance to the Alarm Will Sound concert, so make a night of it.
