Every month the Buschwick Book Club assigns songwriters one book to inspire them to write one original song. They then perform live together during what BBC describes as “an hour-long orgy of book-related songs and book-inspired food and drink” at the kitschy-fabulous Goodbye Blue Monday, which like many of the wondrous locales the best books describe, seems to pop out of nowhere, a world onto itself. This Thursday’s pick is Despair by Nabakov, so come and taste the bittersweet melancholia and dark humorous chuckles of literature, music, food, and of course, fun.
