Maybe the best antidote to the winter blahs is tricking your stomach into thinking you’re in a warmer climate. Seersucker, the Southern food spot in Carroll Gardens, is hosting a special Fried Chicken Fundraiser on Wednesday night that you won’t want to miss. For $50 each, diners will be treated to a mouth-watering three-course menu built around everyone’s favorite crispy, crunchy comfort food. Proceeds from the evening will buy seeds, soil, planters and gardening equipment for the student vegetable garden program at P.S. 58, the school that is the restaurant’s across-the-street neighbor. Through the program, students plant and maintain their own garden and learn how to transform what they grow into hearty and healthy meals. Make a reservation in advance, or turn up on Wednesday for a seat at the bar, and show your support for Seersucker’s commitment to this deserving local cause.
