Give a man a pizza and you feed him for a day, but teach a man to make pizza and you’ll feed him for a lifetime. That’s the basic idea behind tonight’s Edible Brooklyn-sponsored lecture, How to Knead, Top & Toss, where top-notch purveyors of pizza ingredients are gathering at Brooklyn Brewery to teach you how to create a perfect slice in your own kitchen. From 8-10pm, Pizza a Casa Pizza School will be on hand to demonstrate how to make a legit crust using a home oven, Murray’s Cheese will present a mozzarella-making tutorial, and Motorino will offer up tomato sauce tips to finish off your pie. Nibble on samples from those guys, or buy an already finished product from Eddie’s Pizza Truck, and wash it all down with $5 Brooklyn Brewery beers. Tickets are $5, which, when you think about it, is basically what you would pay for a slice from your local parlor.
