The Vaselines may be best known as the band Nirvana covered on Incesticide (“Molly’s Lips” and “Son of a Gun”) and Unplugged in New York (“Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam”), and their music been far more influential than would seem possible for a short-lived Scottish indie pop band. Although they were only together from 1987-89, The Vaselines became a household name during the ’90s, thanks to Kurt Cobain and company. Twenty years later they have regrouped, released a new record and are doing a rare U.S. performance at Brooklyn’s The Bell House. Catch the band for only $20 before they head back home, far away to Edinburgh, Scotland.
