Looking for culinary superstars like Mario Batali, April Bloomfield and Jonathan Waxman this weekend? They will all be in Williamsburg at the inaugural Taste Talks festival we wrote about on BB last month. It’s a two-day event featuring panels and workshops led by top talent from the NYC food scene. Hit up Saturday’s Blue Ribbon Pancake Breakfast hosted by My Morning Jacket’s Patrick Hallahan; attend a discussion on Tracking the Brooklyn Food Boom panel led by the people behind Paulie Gee’s, Saul, Shelsky’s Smoked Fish, Tom’s Restaurant and the Red Hook Lobster Pound; hear Chef Horror Stories from Dale Talde and Carl McCoy; or listen to Wylie Dufresne, ?uestlove and Jennifer Rubell wax poetic about the Intersection of Art and Commerce. Tickets vary in price and are available here, but if you can only attend one event we suggest Sunday’s All-Star Cookout, where a bevy of big name chefs have been paired up to collaborate on original new dishes created just for Taste Talks. For the price of a $65 ticket, you get to try all of them, which will surely be enough to impress the snobbiest foodie you know.
