This annual house tour hosted by The Brownstoners of Bedford Stuyvesant is the one day a year when it’s okay to sneak a peak into the area’s beautifully restored brownstones and limestones without anyone accusing you of being a Peeping Tom. Thousands of people are expected to flock to the neighborhood to tour its historic homes this Saturday, Oct. 19, and if you’re at all interested in interior design, architecture or Brooklyn’s history, you’ll put on your walking shoes and join them. The self-guided tours, which run from start at 11am and go until 4pm, start at the Boys & Girls High School, located at 1700 Fulton St. (near Stuyvesant Avenue), and this event is rain or shine. Tickets are $20 in advance when picked up at Brooklyn Swirl, Sista’s Place or Bed-Vyne Wine, otherwise they’re $25 on Saturday.
