It’s no secret that the bar at Fort Defiance mixes some of the meanest cocktails in Brooklyn, but do you know what goes down there on Thursday nights? Billed as “a delightful way to start a hangover,” the Sunken Harbor Club is a weekly celebration of all things tiki. That means a revolving menu of those at once exotic and old-timey drinks you’d imagine sipping at a Mad Men-era Trader Vic’s or on the beaches of Bora Bora–mai tais, daiquiris, Mr. Bali Hais, and some house-created concoctions like a heavily lauded White Zombie. In keeping with the theme, food specials like wonton crisps, bahn mi, and Korean barbecue pork noodles are available to complement your quaff, but you can also order off of the restaurant’s regular menu if you’d rather stick to the basics. The details for any particular week should be posted on Sunken Harbor’s FB page by Thursday morning, so check here for the latest info. Bottoms up!
