On Sunday, consider a trip to Governors Island for the perennially popular Jazz Age Lawn Party, which I’ve never managed to make it to but always looks like a blast. Who hasn’t seen revelers en route on the subway in their spats and adorable flapper gear and felt a little jealous that she didn’t get it together to participate (again) this year. Well, no more, folks! There’s still time to buy a ticket for either Saturday or Sunday this weekend, or for the second installment of the summer on August 25-26. Tickets start at $35, and as always there will be amazing jazz and dance performances, food, and cocktails (Aperol Spritzes and Palomas? Who can choose?) to enjoy on lovely Governors’ Island from 11am-5pm. Not feeling the ferry? Head over to this hot dog bus/ public art installation in Brooklyn Bridge Park and get yourself a free hot dog (while supplies last) from noon-6pm.
