On September 22, Bustle is launching its inaugural Rule Breakers Festival at the Lefrak Center in Prospect Park. With headliner Janelle Monàe performing a full set from her most recent album “Dirty Computer,” Rule Breakers will be an empowering celebration to remember.
Here’s what else Rule Breakers has planned to bring the pages of Bustle to life, through music, food, beauty, fashion, and more:
- Performances from Grammy-nominated dance-pop duo Sofi Tukker;a DJ set with Samantha Ronson and a special female themed version of the 1992 Party by DJ, Designer and Director Va$htie—aka the “Downtown Sweetheart”
- A special, female-led “sound meditation” from The Big Quiet featuring Sophie Hawley-Weld (of Sofi Tukker), Jenavieve Varga, Jackie Cantwell, & The Women’s Resistance Revival Chorus
- A special braid bar from Vina (the Tinder for girlfriends) and RPZL and a DIY tassel earrings station with Neon Tea Party
- Food vendors including Tipsy Scoop alcoholic ice cream, People’s Pops, Fluff + Fluff cotton candy and Dō chocolate chip cookies.
Plus, Bustle is donating $10,000 from ticket sales to She Should Run, a non-partisan organization dedicated to supporting women around the country to run for public office.
