For decades, Broadway set designers, actors and local volunteers have transformed the front yard of the Halloween House at 313 Clinton Ave. into professional, ghoulishly themed productions every Halloween night. But alas, the house was sold and the tradition has come to an end, at least in Clinton Hill. Veterans of this annual performance have rebranded as “Masquerade on Macon” and are putting on the show at the Macon Library in Bed-Stuy (Macon St. at Lewis Ave.). Judging from the Instagram feed, they are taking it just as seriously. This year’s theme, “Midnight at the Libary,” will feature a hero “facing off with some of the best-known villains in literature,” Goosebumps-style. The first performance begins at 6pm and will run till roughly 8pm. But lest you think Clinton Hill has lost all its Halloween spirit, it will remain home to its annual Halloween walk and performances by the Dead Zombies Band.
