Sunday is Bastille Day, so get your Francophile on at one of many events going on around the city. If you’re looking to stay local, Cobble Hill’s Bar Tabac is hosting its traditional annual party, which involves music, food, booze, and an enormous petanque tournament on real sand courts in the middle of Smith Street. Bonne chance to all the competitors! The action starts at 10am and runs till 8pm, and it’s free to attend.
Nearby, The Green Building is hosting its first Summer Clothing Swap from 11am-3pm. You’ll want to drop off the spring and summer threads you want to trade in by Saturday, so that come Sunday you’ll have tickets for new (to you) clothes. Any leftover clothing will be donated to C.H.I.P.S. and there will be cold brew and cocktails throughout. RVSP here.
Afterwards, City Reliquary is teaming up with Atlas Obscura to host its 14th annual Collectors’ Night at The Bell House, which means that avid collectors of all stripes will be showcasing their meticulously curated treasure troves from 6pm on. It frankly sounds pretty fascinating, and advance tickets are $30.
