Immersive Basquiat (and Bowie too!)

By

Just in time for the comprehensive and informative Bowie exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, Little Cinema at House of YES is hosting a special immersive screening of Basquiat, the 1996 Julian Schnabel film starring Jeffrey Wright, Benicio del Toro, and the Starman himself as Andy Warhol, on Wednesday night at 7:30pm. The movie explores the gritty, fascinating 80s New York art scene, and your viewing experience will be enhanced by added video art, live music and dance, and aerial and circus performances. Special guest Brian Kelly, who worked on the film and knew both Bowie and Basquiat, will play songs from the original soundtrack and perform a spoken word piece about his final interaction with the latter just months before his untimely death. There are only 20 seats left as of press time, so be sure to snap up a $30 GA ticket now to be guaranteed entry to this unique evening of entertainment.
