Brooklyn Botanic Garden is gonna be spicing things up this Saturday, Oct. 5, with an all-out Chile Pepper Festival. Tear up the dance floor like you’re walking on hot coals to the fiery sounds of the Stooges Brass Band, Dendê Macêdo and Bio Ritmo. Break out the bread and water to ease down spicy pickles, salsa and many many peppers from Rick’s Picks, 303 Salsas, Nafi’s and more. And for those of us who can’t go a day without satisfying our sweet tooth, there will be chile-chocolate treats courtesy of The Chocolate Room, Nunu Chocolates, Whimsey & Spice and more–expect 40 fiery food vendors onsite in total. Kids can pot their own chile plants, bookworms can check out the “Spice Racks” in the BBG library for chile pepper titles, and fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers will have to go somewhere else for that particular fix. Tickets are $20.
